(08-09-2022) SES Hydrogen S.A. and TBS Śrem Sp. z o.o. have established cooperation in providing zero-emission hydrogen boiler technology for heating new residential buildings in the municipality of Śrem.
The project will include installing a hydrogen boiler in newly constructed residential buildings, allowing the municipality to meet its heating needs in line with the climate strategy and sustainable development.
Hydrogen is one of the most essential tools for decarbonizing the EU’s climate strategy, which aims to reduce emissions by 55% by 2030 compared to 1990 levels. The expanded regulations include increasing energy efficiency and decarbonizing residential buildings.
The hydrogen boiler will make it possible to generate heat in a zero-emission manner, thanks to the specially designed construction of the device and the use of substrates in the form of hydrogen and pure oxygen. This innovative solution will ensure that the combustion process will not produce pollutants in the form of CO2, NOx, and SOx compounds, or stack losses in the form of water vapor. The target use of hydrogen produced by electrolysis in the unit, driven by energy from photovoltaic installations, will guarantee zero-emission throughout the heat production and distribution chain.
The use of hydrogen in residential heating is an implementation of environmental strategies with a local reference, thus positively improving air quality and the daily comfort of residents. In addition, it makes it possible to make heat production independent of market fluctuations and rapidly rising conventional fuel prices, realizing energy security.
