(11-23-2022) During an event organized by the Pomerania Regional Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with BGK Bank, the Pomeranian Special Economic Zone, and the Export Development Center, the official signing of an agreement for SES Hydrogen to join the 3W initiative took place.
The 3W idea was launched in 2021 by BGK Bank. It brings together representatives from the worlds of science, business, and new technologies, as well as organizations implementing projects in areas related to the use of water, hydrogen, and coal. On behalf of SES Hydrogen, the agreement was signed by Slawomir Halbryt, CEO.
What is Idea 3W?
Idea 3W revolves around three key resources of life – water, hydrogen, and coal – which, properly harnessed, are crucial for a sustainable future. Dwindling reserves of clean water and the growing risk of water shortages are leading to the search for solutions for its effective retention, as well as the development of purification and desalination technologies to provide a resource that meets society’s current, as well as future, needs. Hydrogen is considered one of the most important alternatives to emission-intensive conventional fuels in almost all sectors of the modern economy. The basis for its construction is the use of hydrogen produced with renewable energy, the production, and operation of which are fully emission-free. And finally, non-energy coal used in modern technologies and processes, including medicine, cosmetology, and construction.
This is a unique initiative whose mission is to integrate the community of scientists, entrepreneurs, NGOs, financial institutions, and representatives of the public sector, to educate and activate society, gather know-how, and exchange knowledge among all stakeholders. The ecosystem thus built is expected to support the creation of a favorable regulatory environment, facilitate the commercialization of inventions, and create and strengthen the 3W as an innovative economic sector.
By joining the 3W, SES Hydrogen will be able to participate even more actively in the work of promoting and utilizing the potential of the resource in the sustainable economic development of Poland, as well as spreading knowledge about hydrogen, and supporting the development of the market in our country.
