In mid-March, representatives of SES Hydrogen engaged in cooperation within the Project entitled “Conducting the Entrepreneurial Discovery Process within Smart Labs” in the field of hydrogen technologies, implemented by PwC on behalf of the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development.
What is the Smart Lab?
Smart Lab workshops are an element of the non-competitive project entitled “Monitoring of the National Intelligence Specialisation” of the Operational Programme Intelligent Development 2014-2020 (Measure 2.4.2 POIR), implemented by the Ministry of Development and Technology in partnership with the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development.
The aim of the Project around hydrogen technologies is the cooperation of an interdisciplinary team composed of representatives of public enterprises, the world of science and business, and administration, aimed at determining the directions of development of the area in Poland. In its framework, four key meetings are planned for the turn of March and April, which will result in the development of an expert opinion on the Business Technology Roadmap, based on which public institutions will take decisions on launching dedicated support instruments and their implementation at the national and regional level. The document will make it possible to identify niches for the development of technologies across the hydrogen value chain in our country.
So far, the meetings resulted in analyses of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats facing the hydrogen technology area in Poland, considering the provisions of the “Polish Hydrogen Strategy until 2030 with a perspective until 2040” and identification of trends shaping the hydrogen market in our country and worldwide. The activities enabled participants to identify development scenarios in the context of the forecasted trends. The subject of subsequent meetings will be to clarify the substantive scope of the scenarios and to estimate the resources and necessary financial outlays.
Smart Lab is a workshop that primarily presents a point of view on hydrogen technology, business, and legislation in Poland. Thanks to the knowledge exchange platform created by SL5, it is possible to learn about hydrogen projects, the point of view of their authors, and new horizons that engineers, scientists, and managers of hydrogen-related projects want to reach. Past, ongoing, and future projects focusing on the production, use, distribution, and storage of hydrogen are discussed. The result of the work of many people associated with the Smart Lab will be trends to be implemented in the current decade and baggage of experiences and lessons learned from completed projects – summarizes Jerzy Krenc, Technology Specialist at SES Hydrogen, participating in the workshop.
